The Stripes Book Blog

Stripes-Reload is a plugin for Stripes 1.5 that reloads modifications made to your Action Beans, Type Converters, Formatters, and Resource Bundles without having to restart your server.

It was pointed out to me that it's not as clear as it should be, which version of Stripes is covered in the book.

Thanks to Andy Hunt and Dave Thomas, The Pragmatic Programmers, the Stripes book is now back online with a shiny new cover!

The Stripes book is temporarily "off-line" as the cover is being changed. I really like the new cover! The kite is light, simple and fun, just like Stripes. If you don't see the options to buy the book here, please try again a little later. It should be back sometime today.

Funny coincidence, I was trying things out in Rails and was having trouble getting more than one submit button working in the same form. The coincidence part is that I also saw a posting about Struts2, and it turns out they don't have a good solution either. In Stripes, it's clean and simple.

I just noticed that my face appears in the Pragmatic Programmers Community. That's pretty cool, and it's also nice to put a face on some of the names that I recognize.

I'm working on the AJAX chapter of the Stripes book. One exercise involves having a list of people, and a form, in a single page. The form gets submitted via AJAX, using jQuery.

My upcoming book, Stripes...and Java web development is fun again, now has a place on the Pragmatic Bookshelf. You'll find a description of the book, the table of contents, and free excerpts. I'm still waiting to find out whether or not the book will be available as a beta book, which would make it immediately available as a PDF of what's ready so far, with updates every two weeks or so.
